How did your hunt go. Best to keep applying, to all of them, try phone if you have the time. Companies like hard working planters, because it really is hard work, so best to be diligent and persistent.
We do tree services in Saskatoon and at the same time we plant trees on deforested parts of Canada to replace the trees and restore a good environment.

What are the top 3-5 high balling companies out there for 2019? I heard a roomer of a company with a manditory 5k standard where boxes were dropped where the planters would bag out before they got there. I’m looking for a company with elite competition with specs good enough to average 500+ dollers per day. Any suggestions?
Well, depends on the ground. Harder ground generally pays more and you obviously put in less per day, so it’s not solely about nominal numbers but how well the company pays compared to the competition. I find that if a company pays well and fairly to a highballing crew, because it can afford it, because the projects get done faster, instead of everything getting dragged out by a lowballing crew, they will attract highballers to their crews, can pick and choose, and that formula should be sustainable. I find such formulas generally apply to the coast, where you have more long termers, and the job is much more enjoyable. But they probably would not even consider you if you haven’t planted for at least six seasons. The faster, lower priced ground tends to attract younger planters who are more willing to exploit their bodies, because there is a faster learning curve for that kind of line planting. I would suggest you try some of the forums, like replant.ca, and either ask there or read up on previous comments of each company to get an idea of who the best paying companies are. Seems my own database rating of each company is not working at the moment, but I’ll eventually get around to fixing it. Just got too many other projects on the table at the moment.

Hey there, I’m a first year student in Ontario and I’m interested in tree planting this summer.
Originally I was planning on finding somewhere to work in Ontario but then my friend recommended me to Windfirm out in BC (which I see you’ve left a link for above). He said that it’s nice there and that the pay in BC is overall better than in Ontario.
I’m wondering if you can speak to this in any way. As a student I’m looking to make as much money in 2 months of tree planting as I can.
Plus I’m also looking to visit BC at some point anyway so I’ll take any excuse to go lol.

I responded by PM but, yes, generally the pay is better in BC, especially if you have a enough experience to get on the coast, which can be really scenic, more ergonomic, with a more mature crew and, many times, no bugs!

In the old days when i first treeplanted some 20+ years ago i knew there were a lot of foreigners in the camps, but i think the conditions have changed since then and harder for them to get work without the proper paperwork. unfortunately i don’t know anything about this and you’d have to figure this out yourself. perhaps the treeplanting company can help you, but they probably already get plenty of job requests from canadians, fresh young meat working their way through university, that it would not be easy.

The answere were all negative, because their crew is already full or it is too late. Do you have any idea what could help me to find a tree planting job for this summer ?
For 50cdn I can send your CV and approach letter to all the treeplanting companies in the database, more than 140 email recipients. But you first need to make sure you have a permit to work in Canada, otherwise all the responses will probably be negative.
