This is possibly my favourite place in the Czech Republic, where I like to take people to when showing off the country. “Bohem” in Czech means “with God”. So Bohemia can basically be considered as God’s country. Apparently the area was buried under the ocean for a while, creating these interesting rock formations. A lot of rock climbers spend their summer weekends here. Lots of safe trails with iron stairs to help, all for free! Also castles can be found snuggled in between the rocks, with just the tastiest little pub for a delicious Czech beer before moving on to the next wonder.
These pictures were taken to entice hashers from all over Europe and the world to visit this beautiful area. About 60 of them showed up and I toured them through this area. Lots of false trails and paths to choose from, a truly beautiful maze!
An old ruin/castle, Valecov (near Brezina)
where our favourite pub is located.
A lake near Mnichovo Hradiste.
Very near to the Certoryje campsite.
At Hruba Skala, near to campsite.
Near Komarovsky Rybnik/Brezina.
Looks like an excellent false trail!
Near Mala Skala (and remaining pictures).
Another excellent pub, this one with a fireplace inside and bunkbeds in the background for those who don’t want to stumble home. This pub’s facilities. Don’t worry, ours are much better.
A castle/fortress used to stand up on this site.
Now to see some pics of the hashers once the event was organised!
And still more pictures of Cesky Raj, this time the heavy trail system NW of Jicin.
