Difference between the Standard and Premium Packages

premium standard packages map
The thin green dashed line is the extra distance of the Premium Package

The primary difference between the Standard Package and the Premium Package is the route taken and choice of accommodation.

The Standard Package is our usual route straight from Coron town to El Nido (thick green dashed line). It includes the main Coron sites, such as Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoons, and the Malcapuya group of islands, while the Premium Package takes a longer route (adding the thin green dashed line), visiting more Coron sites in the process.

Because the distance of the Premium Package is longer, we generally recommend the optimum time for such a journey is 5 days, while the optimum duration of the Standard Package is four days. However, both packages can be accomplished in fewer days, such as only a single day if using the speedboat

Accommodation

One of the many private Guest Houses of the Sand Island Ecolodge
on Chindonan Island which we can book directly for you.

If taking the five day route, we recommend staying one night in the Chindonan Island area (surcharge of up to $150), where there are many options available and much to see as well. Sites you would not be able to see if zipping through the area quickly to stay the night further down south.

Further south there are some accommodation options in the Malcapuya group of islands (Banana Island and Coco Beach), but their priority is to serve the big group operators and hence accommodation with them cannot be booked too far in advance, since they do not know the schedule of the big group tours, which furthermore can sometimes change last minute.

Further south we come to Dipalian Island Campsite, which has 20 beach huts but is less glamorous for those seeking greater comfort.

There are many beach camping and hut opportunities further south, such as the beautiful Araw beach, but for those seeking greater comfort, that is not found until the town of San Miguel on Linapacan Island (such as BRC Hotel or Dustan Lodging Inn).

Plenty more beach camping and hut opportunities in the area and on the way south, and for those seeking more comfort there is Resort1, although which will require a surcharge of up to $200, since it is not included.

Conclusion

So you see, there are many option and the world is your oyster. We can also help you design a package if you just state your general preferences. You can use the price calculator to determine the boat tour prices based on the number of people and days, and if you’d like to include accommodation around Chindonan Island or Resort1, simply add it to the total.
