Description

🌊 Twin Lagoon

Scenic island cove with clear waters and limestone cliffs in the Philippines.

The Twin Lagoon is one of Coron’s most spectacular natural wonders — two lagoons separated by towering limestone cliffs. Visitors swim or kayak through a narrow crevice (or climb a small wooden ladder at high tide) to reach the inner lagoon, where freshwater and seawater meet, creating a magical blend of warm and cool layers. The emerald-green water surrounded by jagged cliffs makes it a photographer’s dream. It’s the perfect spot to float peacefully and take in Palawan’s surreal beauty.

💧 Barracuda Lake

coron diving Luxe Adventure Traveler Things to do in Coron Philippines Barracuda Lake 1

Barracuda Lake is a unique dive and snorkeling site known for its thermoclines — sudden changes in water temperature as you descend. The lake is filled with both fresh and saltwater layers, creating a mystical, dreamlike experience for divers. Its limestone walls extend deep below the surface, and though the lake’s name comes from a single large barracuda once sighted here, it’s now famous more for its otherworldly underwater landscape than its fish life. The surrounding cliffs and mirror-calm surface make it equally stunning from above.

🪸 Reef Garden

Scuba diver exploring a vibrant coral reef teeming with colorful fish in the Philippines' clear blue waters.

Reef Garden is a colorful underwater haven that showcases Coron’s rich marine biodiversity. Snorkelers and divers can expect to see vibrant coral gardens, reef fish, sea anemones, and occasionally sea turtles gliding by. The water is shallow and crystal-clear, making it perfect even for beginners. This site is a great balance of accessibility and marine life density — an ideal stop to appreciate Coron’s thriving coral ecosystems after exploring its limestone lakes.

🏖️ Smith Beach

Smith beach island hopping Coron Palawan Philippines

A charming, palm-fringed strip of sand surrounded by limestone cliffs, Smith Beach serves as the lunch stop on many Coron island-hopping tours. The beach offers soft white sand, calm turquoise water, and a relaxed picnic atmosphere. Here, guests enjoy grilled seafood, tropical fruits, and refreshing coconut juice while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding islands. It’s a peaceful, postcard-perfect spot for swimming, sunbathing, or simply soaking up the island vibe between adventure stops.

Skeleton Wreck

Skeleton shipwreck coron Palawan boat tour 3

The Skeleton Wreck is one of Coron’s most accessible and famous WWII shipwrecks. Resting in shallow water at around 5 to 22 meters deep, the wreck’s skeletal frame is clearly visible even to snorkelers on the surface. Divers can swim through parts of the hull, now overgrown with corals and inhabited by schools of fish, making it a beautiful mix of history and marine life. Believed to be a Japanese supply ship sunk in the 1940s, it’s a haunting yet serene reminder of Coron’s wartime past and one of the most photogenic dive/snorkel sites in the region.
