FAQ

When is the best time to come?

The best time is when it is not raining, usually from around mid December to about June. The later it is in the dry season the less or no bugs there are as well. From about March it can get hotter and the air stand still, so the very best time is from around the end of December to beginning of March, when the jungle is still green and there is a bit of breeze. Make sure to ask which beaches have sandflies and when, and only walk on them. Be careful about heat stroke or getting too much sun the first few days. If you are afraid of big waves you might try to avoid February, otherwise all our boatmen are experienced drivers and you need not worry - they will not risk their livelihood.

Do the tours include accommodation and food?

When you fill in the form above you will be provided with an instant quote and more information. You can choose a package tour if going between El Nido and Coron, which includes basic accommodation, food and a bit of drink. The package tour is just a little bit more expensive than the custom tours. On the custom tours you can choose to sleep on the boat for free, or arrange your own fancy accommodation beforehand (you will be provided with our recommendations). The package tour also covers entrance fees to three places. Whether the package or custom tour, the boatmen know of reasonable accommodation along the way for about 300p/person, in nice remote or rural places. Usually you meet the boatman the night before departure to discuss matters, or it is easy to arrange things once on route.

How does the deposit work?

There is a minimum 10,000p deposit ($200), plus an additional 1,000p for each additional person. This is returned if the weather does not permit the boatman to leave. Often your tour can be shifted a few days in such circumstances. This is paid in dollars to our PayPal account (credit/debit cards accepted) and the rest is paid to the boatman, the first half before departure and the second half at the halfway point. You are also entitled to hold onto 5,000p until the very end, in case you are not completely satisfied. I am always available to deal with any issues, but once you fill in the short form, you will be sent more info where you can check out our reviews to see that our customers are very happy.

Are there facilities on board and a dry place where to store our luggage?

The boats are different but usually have a little booth with a toilet but no roof. Since it is a custom tour you can also ask the boatman to stop somewhere. The boats have compartments and tarps to store a lot of luggage in the dry. Since it can sometimes get wet on board, especially if the waves are big, it is best to bring a light raincoat, or wear a snorkel mask if your eyes hurt from the salt water, but since it is always around 33C you wont get cold.

How about snorkeling and other equipment?

We are a young company and adding more boats all the time, so it varies depending on the boat. I always use my most experienced boatmen first, so it is best to contact them beforehand to arrange the details. Most boats have snorkel gear, tents, mattresses, sheets and pillows. There is one speargun and two kiteboards which can be used for wakeboarding. All the boats have permits and the required life jackets, which can also be used as mattresses if you want to sleep on the boat for free. There are cooking facilities on board, which you can also use if you want to prepare something special, or just give your instructions to the crew. You are welcome to use the fishing lines to catch your own fish and the crew would be happy to teach you.
